Accessibility statement
Last updated: 3 July 2026 (module v1.0.47)
We are committed to making bikershop.ro accessible to all users, including people with disabilities, in line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Accessibility widget
The floating accessibility button (bottom-right on desktop) opens a settings panel with the following options, saved in your browser until reset:
- Font size — scale from 50% to 200% (progressive steps); layout of header, menu, cart, product pages, and checkout adapts at larger sizes
- Underline links / headings — can be enabled independently
- Disable animations
- Colour filters — grayscale, high contrast, and invert colours (can be combined)
- Large cursors — light or dark variant
- Keyboard shortcuts (desktop): Alt+L links, Alt+T headings, Alt+A animations; Ctrl/Cmd+B grayscale, Ctrl/Cmd+* high contrast, Ctrl/Cmd+/ invert; Ctrl/Cmd+[ / ] large cursors
- Link to this statement from the widget panel
Keyboard navigation and focus
- Skip link — “Skip to main content” (first Tab on the page)
- Visible focus ring — when any accessibility setting is active (not in default browsing mode)
- Header search (wkelasticsearch): Arrow Up/Down within a column; Arrow Left/Right between columns (Categories / Products / Fitments); Escape closes the popup; Enter runs a normal search unless you have moved through results with the arrow keys, in which case Enter opens the highlighted item
- Vehicle compatibility search (homepage “Choose model” and /compatibilitati/ pages): Arrow Up/Down in the suggestion list; Enter selects a suggestion only after arrow navigation; otherwise Enter triggers the standard compatibility search
- Mega-menu: Escape closes open panels; Arrow Left/Right between top tabs; Arrow Down opens the submenu and moves focus inside; flyout panels remain usable at large font sizes
- Shopping cart (header popup): Escape closes; focus moves into the panel when opened; quantity controls use a horizontal layout at zoom
- Accessibility panel: Tab cycles controls; Escape closes; focus returns to the trigger button
- Cookie banner: Tab cycles actions; Escape moves focus to Accept (the banner is not dismissed without a choice)
Other implemented improvements
- Semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and automatic repair of missing image
alttext and unnamed form controls where possible - Product filter checkboxes (Amazzing Filter) include accessible names in HTML
- Cart and mini-cart: product list scroll, readable prices and quantities at zoom, checkout buttons remain reachable
- Product page: horizontal quantity stepper at zoom; add-to-cart layout adjusted
- Checkout: voucher field and “ADD” button stay aligned at zoom
- OEM parts diagram catalogues (KTM, Yamaha, Honda, CFMoto): font scaling applied to embedded AdvRider widgets
- Header wishlist: heart icon only (no numeric badge overlay)
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
Known limitations
- Third-party content — payment iframes (card providers), analytics, and some embedded widgets are not fully under our control and may not meet all WCAG criteria.
- Mega-menu — pressing Enter on a menu link with a real URL navigates to that page (standard behaviour); very deep submenus at extreme zoom may still require scrolling.
- OEM diagram widgets — font scaling uses browser zoom on the widget container; some dropdowns rendered outside the widget (Select2, smart search) scale separately and may look slightly misaligned at the largest font sizes.
- Runtime fixes — part of the accessibility layer runs in JavaScript after page load; automated HTML-source audits may still report issues that are corrected in the browser.
- Authenticated journeys — order history, address book, and payment steps have been reviewed only partially without exhaustive logged-in testing.
- Mobile — widget keyboard shortcuts are desktop-only; use the on-screen accessibility menu. Some third-party layouts may require horizontal scrolling at maximum font size.
- Search field focus — the site deliberately does not show a blue accessibility focus outline on the main search box; keyboard highlight inside result lists appears only when the accessibility widget is active.

Assessment approach
This statement is based on self-assessment, automated checks (including module audit scripts), and manual keyboard testing of key journeys: homepage, category and sale listings, product page, cart, checkout, contact, vehicle compatibility search, OEM diagram pages, and the accessibility widget (July 2026).
