Cycle Electric rectifying regulators block current to control voltage
this reduces stator current, resulting in low temperature and less drag on the motor, which means more efficient operation

Before replacing regulator, test stator for shorts to ground and proper AC output. If the stator is bad, a complete charging system upgrade is recommended.
